Antifreeze, also known as coolant, can play four roles: antifreeze, anti-corrosion, waterproof scale, and anti boiling. So what are the common reasons for excessive consumption of automotive antifreeze? Next, let's take a look:
The first cause of excessive coolant consumption is damage to the radiator and poor sealing of the upper and lower chambers. Caused by leakage of antifreeze.
The second reason is that the connections between the overflow tank, water pump interface, and cooling system pipeline are loose and poorly sealed. Caused by leakage of antifreeze.
The third reason is that the cylinder gasket is damaged, the flatness of the connection between the cylinder head and the cylinder block is out of tolerance, warping, and any bolt on the cylinder head is loose, which causes high-temperature and high-pressure gas in the cylinder to enter the cooling system, resulting in excessive consumption of coolant.
